Why agile coaching?

First the foundation. Then the depth.

Teams that need to deliver under uncertainty require more than waterfall planning. Agile coaching helps – and with the right perspective, it becomes even more effective.

🏗️

Agile Coaching

The proven foundation

Agile coaches help teams work iteratively, learn faster and deliver better outcomes. Using proven methods and frameworks.

Scrum & Kanban Retrospectives Agile transformation Sprint Planning Team dynamics Daily Standups Stakeholder management Velocity & metrics OKR Design Thinking

Proven practices that work in many teams – when applied correctly and tailored to the context.

Agile Coaching+

All of the above – plus systemic depth

When classic agile coaching is not enough, a broader perspective is needed. Less dogma, more impact – using models that help navigate complexity rather than define it away.

Cynefin Framework Systems theory Organisation design Complexity science Anti-patterns Blue/Red model

For teams and organisations where the standard playbook is no longer enough – or never was.

Both perspectives flow into my work. What I use depends on what your context requires.

Flexible formats

Three ways to work together – you choose.

Whether at your company, remotely from anywhere or as a hybrid format – I adapt to your needs. All formats are interactive and designed for real impact.

On-site

Workshops, coaching sessions and team interventions at your location. I come to you – across Germany and internationally on request.

Live online (remote)

Sparring, coaching and workshops via Zoom or Teams. Interactive formats with Miro, digital exercises and structured reflection spaces.

Hybrid

A combination of on-site and remote. Typical for agile engagements: kickoff and milestones on-site, ongoing coaching remotely.

Expectations

Am I the right fit?

Honesty saves time. Here's how to tell if we're a good match.

❌ I'm not the right fit if you …

… are looking for someone to implement Scrum.

I'm not a framework installer. If you need a certified Scrum trainer, I'm happy to recommend someone.

… expect a ready-made solution from the outside.

I don't bring blueprints. I work with you, not above you. If you're looking for consultants who deliver "the solution", I'm not the right choice.

… need a certification.

I don't issue certifications. If you need an official Scrum, SAFe or Kanban certificate, there are specialised providers for that.

… just want a one-off workshop and that's it.

A single workshop rarely changes anything. Real change requires ongoing support. If you're just looking for a stimulus, sparring is the right format.

✅ I'm the right fit if you …

… want to understand why things aren't working.

I observe collaboration patterns, name dysfunctions and help you find the right levers – not the obvious ones.

… want to embed change sustainably.

I support teams and organisations until the change sticks – and then make myself redundant.

… are looking for a sparring partner at eye level.

For agile coaches, change leaders and executives who want to reflect on their own effectiveness.

… want someone who is honest.

I say what I see – even when it's uncomfortable. No flattery, no theatrics. Straight talk and respect.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

About coaching

Scrum, Kanban, OKR, Design Thinking, Lean Startup, Business Model Canvas and many more practices from the agile world. With Agile Coaching+, I also draw on thinking tools from systems theory and organisational development – Cynefin framework, Blue/Red model, complexity science. I choose what fits the situation – not what happens to be in vogue.

Agile Coaching introduces proven agile methods – Scrum, Kanban, OKR, retrospectives – and helps your team make them work in practice. Agile Coaching+ builds on this and broadens the perspective: systemic analysis, organisational dynamics, complexity navigation. For teams and organisations where frameworks alone are no longer sufficient.

I spent 5 years as Lead Trainer at Brainbirds – one of Germany's leading agile training providers – where I trained agile coaches myself. This means I bring not only coaching experience but also expertise in how to transfer agile knowledge effectively. On top of that, I am framework-agnostic: I look at the system and your context, not the Scrum Guide.

Yes. During my time at Brainbirds and since, I have trained and mentored numerous agile coaches and scrum masters. Through the sparring format, I continue to work with coaches who want to deepen their approach or expand it with systemic perspectives.

Yes. Not every team needs Scrum or Kanban. Sometimes what's needed is better communication, clearer roles or a different collaborative culture. I help teams work together more effectively – regardless of whether they call it agile or not.

About the process

30 minutes, free of charge, no obligation. You describe your situation, I ask follow-up questions. By the end, you'll know whether and how I can help – and I'll be upfront if someone else is a better fit.

Both. For Agile Coaching, I recommend starting on-site at a minimum – team dynamics are hard to observe via Zoom. Sparring works excellently over video. Agile Coaching+ is typically hybrid: intensive phases on-site, reflection cycles remotely.

That depends on the format. Agile Coaching and Agile Coaching+ are agreed as packages. Sparring sessions are booked individually. We'll discuss specific figures in our initial call – I'll give you a realistic range upfront.

Over 100 companies – from DAX-listed corporations such as Continental, EnBW and SIGNAL IDUNA to mid-market companies like WAGO and Refratechnik, as well as startups and intrapreneurship teams (e.g. Audi Denkwerkstatt). Plus 5 years as Lead Trainer at Brainbirds with over 500 coaching days.
